HOURS: 40 hours per week M-FPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of communications devices and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, and repetitive motions. Ability to climb ladders and to lift a minimum of fifty pounds. Some exposure to hazards in the operation of motorized equipment; exposure to body fluids and excrement, pesticide, solvents, acids and alkalis. Stay current with Board guidelines and policies. Qualifications: Must meet district hiring requirements. Physical strength, dexterity, balance and hand eye coordination to do carpentry work. High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Thorough knowledge of appropriate codes as these pertain to the carpentry trade. Completion of a vocational or apprentice program and five years carpentry work experience preferred. Follow the District safety and regulatory compliance policy, procedures and guidelines. Utilize time appropriately and maintain good attendance. Be punctual and prepared for immediate assumption of duties upon arrival at work. Repair, Replace, troubleshoot, install and construct building fixtures for example but not limited to windows, doors, walls, cabinets, countertops, furniture, roofs, floors, door closures, locks, door hardware and access controls. Maintain building key lists, makes keys, and orders key blanks. Recommend, order, pick up and maintain an inventory of frequently used hardware, parts and supplies needed for repair. Directs the work of a few subordinates; provides on the job training of subordinates in complex or difficult tasks. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Ability to read and work from architectural drawings, blueprints, drawings, sketches, and work effectively without close supervision to assure completion of tasks. Knowledge of standard practices, materials, tools, techniques, terminology, mathematics and equipment used in the carpentry trade. Effective communication skills and ability to prioritize to assure timely completion of tasks. Organizational and problem solving skills. Considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the carpentry trade. Ability to understand, perform and follow oral and written instructions to perform carpentry skills.
