serving others through international outreach. ResponsibilitiesThe
Ultrasound/Sonography Lead Technologist is capable of providing
leadership for the ultrasound area. Performs high quality
echocardiograms and vascular ultrasounds following ICAEL and ICAVL
accredited guidelines. Will work closely with Cardiologists and
Radiologists. Must be able to exercise initiative and independent
judgment. Will function as administrative support in the absence of
the Manager/Director. Will be capable of consistent independent
action and judgment portraying positive outcomes. Will be
responsible to assure their department is properly staffed and the
technical work is completed in a timely and competent manner. Will
be responsible for monitoring all of the technical and support
aspects of ultrasound. Technologist must be knowledgeable of
techniques and patient positioning to produce high quality
ultrasound images. Individuals in this position must be able to
exercise independent judgment and initiative. Works with all
segments of patient populations, including infants, children,
adults, and geriatric patients. There is the potential for
infections from contact with infected patients. Also, there is
possibly some contact with processing chemicals and other hazardous
materials. Work hours can, at times, be irregular with the need to
accept overtime and being on call. The work is physically demanding
with the need for a lot of standing, bending, and lifting.Reports
To: Manager and Director Minimum EducationRegistered Vascular
Technician (RVT) and/or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer
(RDCS) is preferred.Multiple ARDMS credentials preferred Required
LicensesDiagnostic Medical SonographerRegistered by Diagnostic
Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) is required Required SkillsAbility to
use a wide range of ultrasonography equipment, including mobile
unitsAbility to learn new procedures and to operate new
equipmentAbility to deal tactfully and professionally with
physicians, patients, and coworkersAbility to work quickly and
accuratelyPossess leadership abilities including staff utilization
and effective delegation as well as organizational and
interpersonal communication skills.QualificationsBLS
