Overview Summary of Responsibilities: Uses personas and journey maps to create user flows, design concepts and UX wireframes for highly usable responsive web and mobile applications and translates them into rapid prototypes to foster positive user experiences. Creates, presents and supports user-centered concepts with consideration of market research, concept and usability testing, UI design patterns, business requirements and best practices to support business objectives. Works with minimal supervision and is responsible for making an established range of decisions, escalating to Manager when necessary and updating Manager on a regular basis. Responsibilities Position Responsibilities: Designs and collaborates on optimal user experience choices to fulfill business requirements. Creates design concepts/UX wireframes for responsive web and mobile applications and/or prototypes. Delivers rapid prototyping of design concepts. Designs for optimal performance, scalable and mobile frameworks. Interfaces and collaborates with Strategy, Creative and Client Service teams to help gather requirements and translate them to functional solutions. Develops journey maps, personas, user flows, taxonomies, information architecture, site mapping and wireframes that deliver consistent, effective and efficient user experiences. Designs and tests CTA's for appropriate conversion, including page placement and text. Creates, presents and supports concepts with consideration of market research, UX patterns, business requirements and best practices. Leads and participates in immersive user research, concept testing, usability testing and analytics. Assists with the measurement of user experience and the collection of insights to improve performance and maintainability of the solution. Applies knowledge, information architecture and usability evaluations with appropriate technologies. Performs other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Selection Criteria: Proven experience designing successful user interfaces for web and mobile applications with seamless user experiences. Demonstrated deep knowledge of user-centric design process and methodologies. Proven experience working through traditional UX design phases (user flows, concepts, testing, wireframes, prototypes, HTML/CSS builds). Demonstrated advanced knowledge of responsive design, including use of media queries. Proven cross-browser development and testing experience. Demonstrated ability to complete projects with minimal supervision and direction. Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated solid understanding of professional methodologies and best practices used to develop and implement a complex user experience. Proven experience in creating deliverables for complex interfaces: use cases, user flows, site architecture, information architecture, wireframes, and prototypes. Demonstrated ability to communicate UX principles and patterns verbally and in writing. Understanding of front-end development technologies including HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Demonstrated understanding of opportunities and constraints of multiple devices and viewport sizes (web, mobile, tablet) and knowledge of cross-platform browser compatibility restrictions and requirements. Proven experience designing for the social web, design patterns, rich internet applications and delivery methodologies. Proven ability to design CTA's, place within user flow and page layout, and write text that converts appropriately. Demonstrate an understanding of evaluating web analytics and applying UX patterns to improve metrics. Proven understanding of the implications of search and SEO. Proven experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies. Work Setting: Works in an office setting and remains continuously in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings. Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree. An advanced degree a plus or degree in a related field, such as computer science, human-computer interaction, graphic design, technical communications or industrial design. Computer Skills and Knowledge of Hardware & Software Required: Sketch. InVision. Photoshop. UX Testing software (i.e. Validately, Optimizely) Proficient in Web design tools, word processing and spreadsheet applications. HTML and HTML5 experience is helpful. Knowledge of CSS (specifically CSS3). Excellent UX skills. Certifications & Licenses (i.e., Series 6 & 63, CPA, etc.): None required. Position Demands: Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects.
