Job Description:
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Data Center Chief
Engineer (DCEO) to join our growing team. As a DCEO at AWS, you
will lead the engineering and maintenance team in one of our
cutting-edge data centers. Your primary responsibility will be to
ensure the data center operates at maximum efficiency, with
operational and design excellence. You will be instrumental in
guaranteeing that AWS services are available to millions of
customers across the globe. This role requires a proactive leader,
ready to handle strategic planning along with daily operations
tasks while working closely with both internal and external
stakeholders to drive continuous improvements in data center
operations. Oversee the overall operation and maintenance of all
electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the data center.
Lead a team of engineers and maintenance staff, providing training,
guidance, and performance evaluations. Coordinate and lead the
implementation of new designs and the scaling or upgrades of
existing facilities. Ensure compliance with all safety and security
protocols. Manage budgets, including cost control and financial
planning. Analyze and improve upon technology and systems to
maintain superior data center infrastructure availability and
robustness. Liaise with other company stakeholders to align data
center operations with overall business operations. Prepare and
present various reports related to energy efficiency improvements,
uptime, and operational expenditures. Deep understanding of
critical data center systems, including HVAC designs, electrical
systems, and backup power systems. Strong leadership and project
management skills. Proficiency in data center efficiency and
cooling strategies. Excellent problem-solving and analytical
skills. Ability to communicate technical information to
non-technical stakeholders. Knowledge of industry standards and
