success.Credence has an upcoming need for a Senior Software
Engineer who will be primarily responsible for supporting the
Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance / Special Operation
Forces (ISR/SOF) Directorate at Wright Patterson Air Force Base,
OH.The Air Force Program Executive Officer (PEO) for Intelligence,
Surveillance, Reconnaissance (ISR) and Special Operations Forces
(SOF) (AFPEO/WI) has the collective Air Force Materiel Command
(AFMC) mission responsibility for equipping our war-fighters to win
the fight.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Apply the principles, criteria, and procedures of Department of
Defense Directive (DoDD) 5000.1 and DoDD 5000.2R, as well as the
policies and processes of Headquarters (HQ) AFMC and AFLCMC
Engineering Directorate to all SOF acquisition engineering
tasks.
- Demonstrate knowledge of multidisciplinary professional
engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods,
techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply advanced
engineering theories to project development, execution, and
advisory services.
- Provide advisory assistance in developing system concepts and
performing technological/trade-off study assessments of proposed
designs.
- Assist with providing technical support in planning, analyzing,
and evaluating efforts used to define total weapons
systems/subsystem requirements, translate requirements into design
criteria, evaluate alternative design approaches, develop system
specifications, and perform technological/trade-off study
assessments of proposed designs, including airworthiness
criteria.
- Provide support in developing system performance requirements,
objectives, and integration, and estimate resources for system
design, development, and support.
- Apply engineering expertise and extensive knowledge of the
functional area to resolve unique or novel problems related to
design and development engineering, including planning, program
management principles, and acquisition regulations.
- Assist with planning, analyzing, and evaluating engineering
efforts used to define system requirements, translate them into
design criteria, evaluate design approaches, and develop system
specifications.
- Perform analysis and assist with evaluating proposals,
presenting conclusions, and integrating technical requirements and
program plans in systems engineering, including reviewing detailed
specifications and drawings.
- Coordinate design change studies, recommend solutions to
technical problems, and suggest engineering approaches during
development and production phases.
- Manage performance/cost relationships and analyze
systems/equipment to ensure operational integrity and
reliability.
- Conduct analyses to determine performance objectives and
address integration issues systematically.
- Support modeling, simulation, and analysis of modifications on
SOF platform survivability/vulnerability.
- Provide guidance on the technical direction and policy for
propulsion systems, performance, structures, subsystems, and
controls.
- Support software development activities for OFP upgrades,
including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and
documentation during all phases.
- Manage the total software development efforts of the OEM,
including subcontractors, ensuring compliance with the Software
Development Plan.
- Support software safety analysis for new and modified system
functionalities.
- Ensure inclusion of major software development and quality
assurance activities in IMPs.
- Review system/subsystem design information, including Software
Requirements Specifications, Design Descriptions, Test Plans, and
Reports.
- Participate in team meetings, technical reviews, and working
groups related to systems engineering and software.
- Provide technical guidance on software development practices,
performance, risks, systems integration, assurance, and
cybersecurity.Education, Requirements, and Qualifications
- Clearance: Top Secret
- Master's degree with 10 years of experience, 5 in DoD, or
- Bachelor's degree with 12 years of experience, 5 in DoD,
or
- 15 years of relevant experience, 8 in DoD
- Minimum 2 years of experience in DOD acquisition/development of
OFP software. Agile and DevSecOps experience is highly
