This 24/7 facility uses the newest technology to assemble the majority of our shock-absorber production for three separate yet integral production groups "-- - - Original Equipment (OE), Aftermarket (AM) and Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV). We work with our customers to provide the right system for the desired ride "-- - - from passive monotube shock absorbers to those that are adjustable, we have you covered for the optimal driving experience.Your responsibilitiesManages a team of Logistics Engineers in the design, implementation and execution of continuous improvement initiatives that optimize cost structures, improve productivity and product throughput, streamlines processes and improve service and performance metrics across all operations within Materials and Logistics. Drives the design, analysis and implementation of supply chain solutions to solve complex logistics problems for distribution of materials and finished goods. -- - - Oversees the analysis and improvements to manufacturing & warehouse layouts to optimize material flow, storage, retrieval and distribution. -- - - With the Logistics Engineering team, identifies annual cost savings opportunities through the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives resulting in optimum operational and financial logistics performance. -- - - Designs, develops, validates, and implements methods and tools that improve operational flexibility and execution of a lean production systems using appropriate lean logistics concepts. -- - - Modifies and improves existing logistics systems such as material flow, storage and information flow. -- - - Supports Logistics teams in the development and implementation of methods for material ordering, communication, transportation, packaging, and distribution throughout the supply chain. -- - - Develops and implements solutions that focus on reducing lead time throughout the value stream and extended supply chain. -- - - Collaborates with OPX and other managers to identify improvement opportunities for workshops and actively participates in workshops. -- - - Teaches and drives the utilization of lean logistics tools such as Plan for Every Part, Kanban, Supermarkets, Milkruns, SAP Templates, etc. -- - - Collaborates with other Logistic professionals across all TKBA locations to optimize "best in class"-- - shipping, receiving, and warehousing processes. Sources and shares best practice ideas with all other worldwide Bilstein facilities.Your profile-- - - Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or equivalent in education and experience. -- - - Proven experience in and knowledge of supply chain, transportation and logistics concepts. -- - - Proven experience independently performing complex routing, fleet sizing analysis and warehouse design and layout for multiple projects. -- - - Thorough knowledge in MRP systems (SAP preferred). -- - - Strong knowledge of Logistics Planning, Material Management and Distribution Management in support of customer operations and requirements. -- - - Demonstrated understanding of Lean Logistics and modern Lean Manufacturing concepts -- - - Knowledge and ability to synthesize new and emerging technologies into manageable and practical applications. -- - - Demonstrated ability to manage projects in a team based environment and operational setting. -- - - Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills (oral, written, and listening.) -- - - Proven experience managing and delivering complex projects within scope, budget and on time. -- - - Flexibility and adaptability with respect to changing work schedules. -- - - Demonstrated discipline and consistency regarding adherence to established standards, policies, procedures. -- - - Independent & organized work style with the ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work responsibilities, assume and manage multiple tasks without close supervision, and meet deadlines. -- - - Demonstrated ability to facilitate and lead improvement teams.
