Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified Physician Assistant (PA) to provide
comprehensive primary care services at a Department of Veterans
Affairs (VA) facility. The selected provider will deliver
high-quality care to veterans while working alongside an
interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Responsibilities
The Physician Assistant will provide primary care services within
the scope of practice and clinical privileges granted by the
facility, including:
Conduct patient evaluations, histories, and physical
examinations
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
Order and interpret laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, EKGs, and
other diagnostic studies
Prescribe and manage medications as permitted by state law and
facility privileges
Provide patient education and counseling regarding treatment plans
and disease management
Monitor patient outcomes and adjust care plans as appropriate
Coordinate specialty referrals and consultations
Support preventive care and health promotion initiatives
Discuss advance care planning and end-of-life preferences when
appropriate
Ensure continuity of care and appropriate follow-up
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Perform additional duties consistent with primary care practice
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
Current certification by the National Commission on Certification
of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Current, unrestricted PA license in any U.S. State, Territory,
Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia
Current DEA registration (if applicable)
Current BLS certification
ACLS certification preferred
Experience providing primary care services
Preferred Skills
Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary
team
Experience in federal, military, or veteran healthcare settings is
preferred
