Registered Nurse (RN) | Telemetry Location: Lexington, KY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,052 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 14 Weeks Start Date: 4/7/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year of experience required. License: Compact state license required at time of submission. Certifications: BLS, ACLS required. Must-Have: Experience caring for post-op surgical patients, especially in Orthopedics and Gastrointestinal surgeries. Experience with wound vacs and strong orthopedic experience. Ability to float to other units within skillset. Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple admissions and discharges per shift. Description: This is a telemetry unit that cares for patients undergoing orthopedic, spine, general surgery, and bariatric procedures. It is a very busy, fast-paced unit that typically receives 10-20 post-operative patients per day. The nursing requirements include both medical and surgical skill sets. Nurses must be comfortable managing cardiac and oxygen monitoring capabilities. The patient ratio is typically 5:1. There is interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics, primarily post-operative and medicine patients. Bariatric surgeries, orthopedic surgeries, and GYN surgeries are among the common diagnoses treated. Strong knowledge in managing various medical devices and procedures such as feeding tubes, central line care, and blood product administration is essential. Nurses must be compliant with competency exams and skills assessments relevant to the position. This department may require self-scheduling with manager approval. The unit may experience high turnover rates, requiring flexibility and rapid response to changing patient needs. Candidates should be prepared to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed. It is crucial that candidates do not have any licensure hits as that will affect submission eligibility.
