Job Description:
Locum Gastroenterology Coverage - Lexington, KY Seeking a locum
Gastroenterologist to provide inpatient coverage while recruiting a
permanent provider. This role involves 24-hour call
responsibilities with a focus on inpatient GI care, emergency
department consults, and advanced endoscopic procedures in a
hospital-based setting. Schedule & Coverage Start: ASAP , ongoing
until permanent placement Rotation: 7 on / 7 off (approximately 14
days per month) Coverage dates include: January: 1/6 1/12; 1/24
1/26 February: 2/3 2/9; 2/17 2/23 March: 3/3 3/9; 3/17 3/23; 3/21
4/6 April: 4/14 4/20; 4/28 5/4 Practice Setting & Responsibilities
Inpatient/hospital-based coverage with 24-hour call Duties include:
Inpatient GI coverage and daily rounding Emergency department
consults GI procedures including ERCP and routine ( bread and
butter ) endoscopy Average volume: patients per day Approximately
10 admissions per night EMR: Epic Support & Resources Dedicated GI
support team including 3 inpatient APPs Assist with endoscopy,
floor coverage, and ED consults Facility Information Location:
Lexington, Kentucky Reason for coverage: Active recruitment for a
full-time Gastroenterologist Candidate Requirements Board Certified
or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology ERCP experience required
Active Kentucky medical license highly preferred (IMLC considered)
ACLS and DEA required Clean malpractice history strongly preferred
for expedited privileges Availability must be confirmed at time of
name clear This opportunity is well suited for a Gastroenterologist
seeking a structured 7-on/7-off locum assignment with strong APP
support and a high-acuity inpatient GI practice.
