Certifications: Must have relevant licensure as specified above. Description: The Behavioral Healthcare Provider develops, coordinates, implements, and provides interdisciplinary services regarding behavioral and biomedical science knowledge and techniques relevant to health and illness. This position involves the application of knowledge and techniques to prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. The provider performs psychosocial interventions with clients within the established scope of practice. They conduct individual, family, or group interventions, including counseling, testing, and education of clients. Intervention goals and objectives are developed to provide education and resolve clients' functional problems. The provider participates in establishing, implementing, and evaluating treatment system goals and objectives. Interviews are conducted with clients and their families to establish case goals and objectives. Clients are assessed, and specific intervention techniques are determined to monitor responses to treatment. The provider gives feedback on the effectiveness of prescribed treatment plans. They evaluate cases managed by lower-level behavioral healthcare providers and assess client progress. Necessary documentation is maintained to meet federal, state, and local agency requirements. The provider prepares data including social histories, admission and aftercare summaries, and court documents as needed. They serve on treatment and program development teams, attending training meetings and court hearings. Establishing and maintaining working relationships with agencies and support services is essential for coordination of referrals and follow-up services. The position requires knowledge of relevant regulations, policies, procedures, and crisis intervention techniques. The ability to counsel on sensitive matters and proofread technical materials is important. The provider must recognize unusual or threatening conditions and respond appropriately. Problem-solving skills in complex situations and the ability to apply social work theories and techniques are essential.
