Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Process Analysis and Optimization: Analyzing existing processes,
identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement,
and developing strategies to optimize them. This involves studying
production data, conducting time studies, value stream mapping, and
applying lean principles such as 5S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma.
+ Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Leading and implementing
continuous improvement projects to enhance productivity, reduce
waste, increase efficiency, and improve quality within business
operations. This includes collaborating on improvement goals,
developing action plans, coordinating cross-functional teams, and
monitoring progress.
+ Lean Methodologies Implementation: Applying Lean Manufacturing
principles and methodologies to streamline processes and eliminate
waste throughout the product cycle. This includes facilitating lean
workshops, training employees on lean concepts, and promoting a
culture of continuous improvement.
+ Data Analysis and Reporting: Collecting and analyzing data
related to key performance indicators (KPIs), process metrics, and
production output to identify trends, patterns, and areas for
improvement. Generating reports and presenting findings to
management and stakeholders to support data-driven
decision-making.
+ Standardization and Documentation: Developing and maintaining
standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and visual
aids to ensure consistent and standardized processes across the
manufacturing floor. Updating and revising documentation as needed
to reflect process improvements.
+ Change Management: Leading change management efforts by
effectively communicating process changes, providing training and
support to employees, and addressing concerns or resistance to
change. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth
implementation of process improvements.
+ Root Cause Analysis: Conducting root cause analysis to identify
the underlying causes of problems or non-conformities in the
manufacturing processes. Using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone
Diagrams, or Pareto Analysis to determine the root causes and
implementing corrective actions.
+ Lean Culture Development: Promoting a culture of continuous
improvement and lean thinking throughout the organization.
Encouraging employee engagement, involvement, and empowerment in
suggesting and implementing improvement ideas.
QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES
Education and Background:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a
related field.
Relevant certifications in Lean Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement,
or Quality Management (e.g., Six Sigma Green Belt, Lean
Practitioner, etc.) may be preferred.
Knowledge and Experience:
+ Strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and
principles, such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, PDCA
(Plan-Do-Check-Act), and other process improvement frameworks.
+ Experience in process analysis, data analysis, root cause
analysis, and problem-solving techniques.
+ Familiarity with statistical analysis and tools for process
improvement.
Technical Skills:
+ Proficiency in process mapping and process improvement tools,
such as Value Stream Mapping, SIPOC
(Supplier-Input-Process-Output-Customer), DMAIC
(Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control), and others.
+ Ability to use statistical software and data analysis tools like
Minitab, JMP, or Excel for data collection, analysis, and
interpretation.
Communication and Collaboration:
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively
collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
+ Ability to facilitate workshops, trainings, and meetings to drive
process improvement initiatives and gain buy-in from team
members.
Project Management:
+ Experience in project management, including defining project
scopes, creating project plans, tracking progress, and delivering
results within timelines and budget constraints.
+ Ability to lead and manage multiple improvement projects
simultaneously.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is a full-time position.
Hours of work are 40 hours per week Monday through Friday 8 am 5 pm
or as agreed upon hiring.
