Primary Location Hamilton, MS - Pigment Plant



Position requires a degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering and five (5) years engineering experience in process control and optimization. - Grade will be commensurate with relevant experience. - -Ability to present ideas and good verbal and written communication skills and good human relations skills are required. - Experience in the following is preferred but not required: Performance Monitoring (Plant Triage), PID Controllers, DCS (Foxboro, Honeywell, Emerson Delta V), PLC (Rockwell/Allen Bradley), and Instrumentation (Foxboro, Rosemont, Fisher).Function - - - - - - - -Engineer

Job Responsibilities (Outputs)

This position is responsible for process control and instrument improvements, project development, and assisting operations and maintenance in meeting safety, environmental, quality and productivity goals. - Ensures the operation of the plant in an environmentally responsible manner in compliance with all Safety, Health and Environmental Policy

• Troubleshooting of Instrument/Electrical issues with I/E Technicians
  
• Provide interface with T&I Group for Capital Improvement Projects in Area 2
  
• Partner with Operations and Maintenance teams to analyze and improve equipment availability and energy consumption as needed.
  
• Analyze maintenance and operations data to minimize instrument-related maintenance costs, failures, manpower, and downtime to continually improve and optimize electrical needs in the area.
  
• Design improvements to Instrument/Electrical components and equipment that contribute to process downtime
  
• Initiate projects, implement management of change requirements, and manage project implementation as needed.
  
• Assist other Engineers in Area 2 with Instrument and Electrical design changes including valve specs, transmitters, electrical design, etc
  
• Be heavily involved with design change process to ensure loop sheets/motor elementary and P&IDs are corrected and marked up.
  
• Identification of optimal control valves, flowmeters, transmitters, and other instruments for continuous improvement of process monitoring and control
  
• Loop Tuning - Develop the Plant Triage process for Area 2
  
• Conduct PRV, control valve, and other equipment sizing as needed
  
• Complete field process/equipment audits.
  
• Reduce process variability through control loop optimization or other process improvements.
