Hamilton, OH. This 24/7 facility uses the newest technology to
assemble the majority of our shock-absorber production for three
separate yet integral production groups - Original Equipment (OE),
Aftermarket (AM) and Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV). We work with
our customers to provide the right system for the desired ride -
from passive monotube shock absorbers to those that are adjustable,
we have you covered for the optimal driving
experience.CompanySummary:The Quality Engineer is responsible for
supporting the Production in driving quality activities within the
production facility through the use and knowledge of the ISO 9001,
IATF 16949:2016 Quality Management Systems and Quality Tools. This
position ensures that quality problems are effectively addressed
and that quality standards are being implemented and adhered to
within the production facility. The Quality Engineer enhances
customer satisfaction through managing customer complaints and
assists internal Quality Department inspection resources in the
accuracy of defect detection and Engineering in the
correction/improvement of products and processes. Works in
conjunction with Engineering, Manufacturing and Operations to drive
continuous improvement to ensure quality objectives are met and
ensure product/process conformity to internal, customer and third
party regulatory requirements.Your responsibilitiesEssential Duties
and Responsibilities:Interacts with manufacturing, suppliers and
customers to drive improvement activities and ensure product and
processes meet or exceed customer expectationsParticipates in the
improvement of the manufacturing process for existing
productsConducts studies to stabilize, validate or improve parts
and process capabilities. Performs capability studies to identify
problems, provides solutions and/or recommendations for
improvement, and implementing corrective/preventive actionsAnalyzes
defective parts and/or processes to determine root cause of defect
and provide input on corrective/preventive actions to prevent
future failures. Implements solutions to improve yieldHolds quality
investigations and researches assigned customer complaints for
resolution of quality issues and eliminating problems from
recurringSupports Engineering for qualification of new parts,
processes and/or equipment through collection and data
analysisPerforms internal and external audits on product/processes
to ensure compliance to specificationsReviews and approves work
instructions, inspection documents and change notificationsAnalyzes
quality trends through data mining and analysis and resolves
quality issues through root cause analysis and problem solving
processes (PSP)Conducts quality audits as prescribed by the local
quality registration (ISO or Customer Requirements)Participate in
the analysis and disposition of non-conforming product as
requiredInterface with customers to resolve quality issues and
facilitate quality-planning (APQP) and development of work
instructions for customer-specific requirementsWork with Production
Manager to identify and address quality concernsProvide training
and support to employees on all quality concerns, customer
complaints and application of quality methodologiesCreation of
operational work instructions for productionEnsures compliance and
safety of all activities within the organization standards and
policiesPerforms all other duties and responsibilities as
assignedYour profileQualifications & Experience:Proven experience
identifying process shortcomings through data analysis and
providing recommendations for improvementExperience in designing
and implementing Corrective Action in response to process
escapesFamiliarity with ISO 9001 or ISO/TS16949
standardsDemonstrated knowledge of SPC, DOE ANOVA, f & t-test
analysis, GR&R etc.Proven experience with APQP / PPAP
disciplinesAdvanced knowledge of statistical software such as
Minitab, Infinity or equivalent systems, along with MS Office
suiteAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook,
Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Excellent written and verbal communication
skills and willingness to identify, initiate and drive improvement
teamsProven track record of customer interface and ability to
manage multiple projects and programs in a fast paced
environmentProven time management, organizational, problem solving
and prioritization skills to successfully complete responsibilities
in a timely mannerStrong collaboration skillsDetail-oriented,
accurate, timely with strong analytical skillsHighly organized with
