JOB TITLE: Accountant
DEPARTMENT: Finance
REPORTS TO: Accounting Manager
STATUS: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY:
Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing
accounting data and preparing reports. Records general journal entries, reconciles ledger
accounts and resolves discrepancies. Assists the accounting manager with overseeing the day
to day activities of the department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Summarizes current financial status by collecting information and creating reports.
Documents financial transactions by recording general ledger journal entries, reconciles ledger accounts and resolves discrepancies.
Assists Controller with generating monthly financial statements.
Assists Controller with day to day aspects of running the finance department and backfills for other positions when necessary.
Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
Supports annual budget process and facilitates its creation.
Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
Interacts with internal and external auditors in completing audits.
Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field is required or equivalent combination of
education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations
where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished
in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the ability to gain knowledge of the
Practice Management System, Microsoft Office Suite, and Accounting software.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
None necessary
OTHER SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, reporting and cost-control principles as well as
federal and state financial regulations.
